Few splats off weld dripped on screen 1 rolled down and melted screen the offer some how got inside didnt even notice that one till later . So i took the rack off and welded it in the end
sooo my question is how much roughly is a new windscreen on a 300tdi disco , i dont have windscreen cover before u ask , it hasnt cracked yet but i reckon it will do.

was very ****ed off and felt like a complete idiot !

Last time I looked and that's a few years ago a genuine parts windscreen from a main dealer was just over £1200 plus a bit more if tinted, and a bit more if heated plus a bit extra for fitting.

To day I believe a windscreen company will fit a replacement for around £300 but for an exact price give them a call.

All in all it makes having windscreen insurance option worth while with just paying the £70 excess or whatever when required.

And you will lucky to find a good condition 300 series screen on e-bay, I don't see any there at the moment.

If it's just a chip see if auto glass can repair it when I had my vectra I wasn't covered and I shopped around local companies and got one 130 fitted so do try shop around before you agree to some over priced company

Its not even a chip its the molten metal has got inside the screen and made it like that the line u can see is were one landed and rolled down and melted the screen as it was robbing , its basicly drivers side 3/5ths the way up and about 25cm from the centre

Which part of the country are you in? Is the screen unheated?

ive heard national windscreens in stafford are well priced i know because on my van policy no its £60 for a new screen where as if i didnt have cover it was £180

Go to your local scrappy to get a screen - then get a windscreen fitter to fit it - they're good like that, well for money they are !!!

The trim comes off with the window in tact if they know what they are doing.cut the window out from the inside then lift window out.remove trim stick trim on new screen and then bond in to disco.

True true just the basic screen think it might have the little tint strip at the top tho , ill have to give scrappys a ring round or see if it will last till febuary on my renewal
