Windscreen bloody wipers

hi to all, i live in southern italy and have a discovery 2 td5 2004 auto. i have been in several garages, shops, diy places, and a landrover dealership. and all say that they cant get a set of wiper blades for me, they suggest that the nearest place to buy them is germany. admitadly i have never seen one other discovery in all the time ive been here but still you would think that a dealership would be able to order them but they refuse to. in the words of Victor Meldrew "I DONT BELIEVE IT".

i suppose i will have to order them from rimmer bros as i know they post to italy.

or does anyone know where i can buy a better set of wipers?

Can't ya buy just the rubber blade inserts and cut to length? You can normally pick em up at any ol' car spares shop.

I've got a pair of Halfrauds windscreen wipers (cost me about £20) I no longer need, your welcome to them if you can pay the postage somehow....

Aren't the LR ones made of special softer rubber (which is why they wear out quickly) or is the dealer giving me sh*t?

cant yer get some for a Mini or summat, anyone know what else fit beside defender ones?

i have been told that the blades are summink special and also my landrover dearler tried to sell me 2 sets that u are supposed to change dependant on weather conditions lol one set for winter and another set for summer. so i just ask for the summer ones as i was moving to italy at the time. but as PASTMASTER said they are a softer rubber and now its got cold and raelly rainy in italy they have just fell to bits lol. so i think ill try and ask rimmer bros to send me a set.

I haven't heard of the two-seasons thing - is it really likely that the average stealer would change all the blades on their unsold cars on April 1/November 1? Would explain why I seem to be getting through two sets a year though.

if that is true then i feel that someone shoudl make some sort of all year round wipers cos the 2 sets of wiper thing is just silly. :der:

anyway the rimmor bros ones are on there way

hopefully they will last a little longer, also i noticed in the rimmor bros catologue they sell a set of winter blades i dunno if thats what land rover mean but hey lol who cares as long as they work
