Howdoo all, the windscreen on my disco is not well, so if i get it changed, is the radio ariel connected to it? Also i have a new radio to put in, could it be connected to have the originaldoor sub working as well, most prob i would lose the controls by the clocks.

Id recommend getting a DAB/FM radio.
I finally fitted a decent one to mine, DAB/FM/CD (for old school!)?USB and hands free!
Ticks all the boxes, right PITA to set up but its ok now.
The DAB works better all the time, I guess more transmitters now.
The DAB antenna is stuck inside the windscreen, on the top left, it MUST be earthed to the body, easy to do.

DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) is definitely the way to go. Once the national coverage for the BBC multiplex gets to 95%, it's at about 94% now, the current VHF FM services will start to be switched off, much as was done with the changeover to digital television some years back. You might or might not be able to receive the commercial channels immediately.
There are now quite a number of DAB suppliers and installers, some will also be familiar with fitting to Discos and the little quirks such as the various amplifiers and remote controls in use. I was able to fit a DAB converter unit since the original radio head unit still works very well and I didn't particularly want to upset the appearance of the dashboard.
DAB will require an additional aerial, very often you can get away with one which will stick on the inside of a window, mine is on the inside of the off-side rear window below the alpine window. The type I used doesn't need a physical connection to ground but it gets its ground through the wonders of electronics (capacitive coupling).
