One front window and one rear window opens.
Before getting too involved in replacement parts does anyone have knowledge of this problem and hopefully a tried n tested fix
Appreciated any advice

had another look at switches
the two that work drivers front and passenger rear work in any configuration of swapping round switches
when you operate switch for front passenger window you can hear a click so assume power is getting as far as window mechanism
from there im baffled and seeking advice

There will be a relay somewhere I would guess as the switches cannot carry the motor load. That being the case, I would suspect a duff relay as the first possibility.

still searching for the right info

Wammers will be up tomorrow and put you right

In the meantime I'll bore you - Could it be the "one touch electric window control unit" ?

If you take the liner out of the centre cubby hole (4 PHILLIPS SCREWS) you'll find the control unit and two relays hidden underneath.

You can prove it is the control unit by taking off the plastic cover, (it just unclips) and on the circuit board inside there are 2 copper coil relay switches with a contact on the side.
If you flick the contact on the side of one of the coils with a finger, the windows might work.

Landrover want about 60 quid for this thing.....IF you can get one!
Replacement on Ebay for 18 quid :D

had a look in cubby box after taking out liner but the one touch window lift control unit is not located anywhere in that space hidden or otherwise
believe part no is PRC6859
any suggestions on a 1987 range rover classic where this part is located ?

If you can get hold of a nanacom you can go into the becm and operate the window from the nano and that will prove if its the motors or the switch pack
