Hi all, my front driver side isn't working (I posted asking for advice before) I was told it was in all probability it is the wires where you open-and-shut the door, being totally useless at sparks, I thought the only DIY option for me was to try and see if it was the motor has gone (that was the 2nd option I was told it might be) so thought I would have a go at that first, as its something I can at least attempt to do myself, well I got a new second hand (eBay) one plugged it in (just the one push in plug) and its still not working, so I have done all that I can do, as I can't do electrics.
To change the wire on the motor do I need to take the door off? And can I replace the wire? is there a plug at each end? Can someone who knows about electrics help me out, and sort it out for me? If I take it to a garage they are going to charge me £100s thanks.....

Hi I would check to see if the plug to the motor has power, it could be the switch, or broken wire, hope that's some help. Rob

Now... if I knew how to do that, I have a meter, but like I say, I'm not good at sparks, what do I set it to? And what bits in the plug do I put them on to? If I remember there were 6 pins?

have you got a circuit light, if so find agood earth and press window down button and put in each pin hole one will light, if lights you got power, or put plug on another switch passenger side if it works duff switch.

Do I need the engine running when I try this? (guessing I do) looking for an hour for the circuit tester with the light on it lol

. then do my PHD... :):)

I haven’t got one of those are they useful then? Maybe I should step away from my DVM until I get 1:D

post a pic of your meter and somebody will advise where to put the switch, tbh I only use 2 settings on mine for working most issues. Voltage and continuity. Rarely need any others.

Do all the other windows work from the switch pack? If you had diagnostics, you could use them to try to operate the window which would eliminate some of the electrical stuff.

The other 3 windows and the sunroof work fine its just the drivers one
