Window won't close

Ok my TD4 is taking the ****. Things just keep going wrong...

I went to KFC earlier and opened my window while going through the drive thru. Next min I know is that the window won't close again. It will go up partially, less than 1/4 but will stop.

Any ideas?

Well I eventually found the thread after viewing 1000s of threads that just said "do a search". Seriously, saying "do a search" does more harm than good as it effectively creates false positives in the search index. I might not be a mechanic, but I do have a BSc in IT!

Anyway, for those who later stumble upon my thread looking for answers:

the trick, RichM is to :search: before yu ask. Have you looked in the Q's and A's bit - I think there is a complete how-to in there.

You know how these guys work, you get told it's been asked time and time again, my reply to that is why post that sort of reply, if your sick of answering that sort of question then dont reply at all.... It's all about the help baby!! Some peeps on here need to get out more............

Well I had a look and I'm pretty sure it's the cable. The motor is definitely trying to work. Everything else looks normal so I guess that narrows it down to the cable. Would make sense considering the window stopped working properly after all that ice/snow. I guess I strained the cable and it eventually became unserviceable.

I wouldn't bother trying to fix the cable Rich, i broke two new cables before going for a whole new regulator! Much simpler, and only takes about 10mins start to finish.
