Rear washers not workin, and I suspect its the pump. Rave says remove front bumper. Is this correct, and am I goin to be cursing LR designers for a wee while again?

Hi,
I believe you can get to the pump by just removing a panel at the rear of the bumper immediately behind the washer bottle area at the bottom of the wheel arch.

mine doesnt work either but its not an MOT issue so have left it, let me know if this easy way of replacing it works!

Will do....I hate it when something doesn't work. I thought if I got in there, I could try the front washer pump on the rear and see if it works, but it looks like they are a different part.

Hi,
It's off this site
Allbrit.de - Ersatzteile für LAND ROVER & MG ROVER
Shows front and rear as same part no. DMC1005500 but h/lamp washer pump different
Griff

Cheers for that Griff. But it is giving front 100550 and rear as 100540. And wouldn't you know it, the rear is more expensive.

I'm going to try and get in to it by the cover in the front wheel arch and see whats what. I may be able to swap them over temporarily and identify if the rear pump is goosed.

Eventually got round to fitting new pump today. Still doesn't work though. Checked old pump with spare battery, and would you believe it, it works. Only other thing I can think of is the dash switch. Anyone know best way to check if the switch is goosed?

pull mout the switch , unplug it and bridge the pins in the connector, the green/light green(pin 1) and light green/grey(pin4) wires, see attachment to identify pins...if no joy we'll speak then
