Hi all

Has anyone tinted there windowas and if you did can you reccomend a kit, i need to do the back ones and my mud side windows and also the front door ones. Not to sure on what percent you can tint them, also not to sure on the colour ie black or sliver and my landy will be camel trophy sandglow.

Is this for security (please tell me it is!)? If so, wun't yer be a lot better off with security grills. Tinting is hard to get exactly right & unless it's done by proper tinting places it almost always looks ****. Fer the price they charge you could get grills & a couple of custom ones knocked up for yer mud quarter light thingies. ;)

if your using a film to do it.

tints are easiest to do if you pop the windows out first.

make sure the window is nice and clean, get one of those spray bottles put washing up liquid and water in it, then spray it on the window, peel the sticky back bit off the tinty bit, make sure it doesnt crease and place it on the window, slide it around until u get the position right, then use a squeege to push the water and air bubbles out, use a credit card round the edges, and cut off excess tinty ness. leave 10mm round the edge for the tint to fit itself, they sometimes annoyingly shrink, then cut it down later.

if you get any bubbles and cant squeege them out, prick them with the end of a stanley knife.

i think thats everything. you can pick the kits up pretty cheap at halfords i thinks.

is yer a barry boy then dubbin

Legal tints on your front side windows have to allow at least 70% light transmission and as a lot of windows already have a tint adding to it usually makes your windows illegal and attracts the attention of my colleagues on a regular basis.
Do yourself a favour and don't do your front doors at all by all means do the rears but that can give you aggro at night trying to see to reverse, however your motor your choice.
