Hi all,

Does anyone know the procedure for removing the window switches from the centre console on a 3 door facelift Freelander please?

The least damaging way is to remove the cubby bix behind the hand brake lever, then put your hand in the hole, and push the switches out from behind.

It's also possible to lever them out from the front, however it does run the risk of damaging the console or switch, so pushing them out from behind is the best way.

Thanks for that. Further silly question sorry, are the left and right switches interchangeable as they seem to have different part numbers?

The switch may have been supaceeded with a newer version. Otherwise no difference. You find the toggle switch may be worn-out up or down. If you find a working one you can use the switch as a tester. Window regulator motor can fail from the rusty cable fouling the reel causing the motor to burn out.

Thanks, I swopped the non working drivers window one to the left hand side non working window. It went down brilliantly, but did it go up again? Bugger it did. Correct switch now ordered, bin bags on passenger side now. Obviously not driving it. Am preparing for worse outcome. Should have left alone.
