Oh yeah, another one...

While i'm at the scrappy procuring myself a seat base, could i also prise out the window seal (around inside edge of the door frame sealing glass to frame) and refit into mine? Looks possible but not sure!

Same question applies to the runner between the fixed and moving windows in the rear door...

Cheers

worth a go,dont know if they are seperate to the frame, however the frame is only held on to the door with some pan head torx bolts,I think :confused:

Right then - UPDATE 1

Window seal can be replaced quite easily...

1. Find a suitable donor vehicle and drop the window, if on a scrapyard sans battery remove the door card and undo the lift assembly bolts

2. Starting at the top, prise the seal out of the frame and work down towards the window. When you get as far as you can, simply pull straight up on the seal and it will slide out past the window.

3. Get home with your new acquisition, remove the door card and drop the window fully down

4. Pull out the seal as you did with the scrappy one and discard

5. Identify the top rear corner and push this into the appropriate corner, follow the seal along the top edge to the front corner

6. Spray the rear of the new seal with a little WD40 or similar then start feeding the ends down the frame past the window - you are aiming to get far enough down the frame to be able to reach from the access holes in the door panel a little window movement may help drag the seal down (a helper is useful at this point!)

7. Once you think you have enough of the seal down the frame, slowly lift the window until the ends are cleared, prise out the ends and pull the seal down into position (once again a little glass movement assists)

8. With the seal into position at the top of the frame, press the ends back into the frame at the bottom, then rebuild the door

So it can be done! Now i have no whistling for £1 and around 45mins of my time!
