Hi All,

Got a niggling issue, the LHS front window will not set, all other windows set ok.

Any tips on how to resolve?

Tried numerous times up and down, halfway etc.

Always been the same issue whenever the battery was disconnected, the only window that plays up.

A little bit of silicone spray on the runners and ensure you keep your finger on the button for a good couple of seconds before going to close and do the same.

stopping at any point and you have to start again.

Window setting is dependent on the motor stalling at each end of travel. That gives the system the full travel info it needs. If there is any clicking at either end of the travel it means the motor is not stalling. Therefore the window cannot be set.

Ok cheers, the window motor is fine no clicking or jolting, will try with door open and check runners etc all clear. Probably filled with crap as been sitting around for ages .

Door strip is smashed orf on mine so holes in door was letting water and grit in for few years.
Ahh not good, mine are just warped from the sun.

Another question, I need to repair door cills underneath the car, they are rotten, this a common issue aswell?

They may still leak water in was my point. Look for light coming through or run Marks on paint if you ever have door card off

No but if parked under conifers the needles can drop in, block stuff up and hold moisture and it is all downhill from there.

No rotted cills even on my 94 scrapper, bottom tailgate seem well corroded though
Yea not sure why mine are so bad as rest of under body seems solid, having spent its first 10 years in Scotland looking at service history might have aided it somewhat looked very remote where garages were located

i can attest to conifers. Few years under them I still find bits.

I had rust on sills on last MOT as advisory. Is Early 95 so 25 now - no rot though. Later DSEs seem to struggle more than mine with plastic along the trims, perhaps yours used to have rubber side steps??

I just tried the open door trick and it set in the end  that annoying buzzer these car have drives mad.

Think it might have had side steps and the brackets on the body as can see where they been removed, or more so, hacked off!

The teeth tend to wear on the window regulator as they're made of chocolate. Eventually it will just grind at the top and stop.
