firstly get a tirfor much cheaper and far more useful. than having 20st of scrap hanging off ya front bumper.

Forget Britpart, Champion, TMax & Titan they are all made in China and rebadged in the UK. 12000lb.s = 5444KG what are you intending on towing. bearing in mind a defender weights approx 1900kg and a snatch block will half the load on the winch.

my warn xd9000i has never let me down, but as its been said ya get wot ya pay for..

and as for a tirfor they are fookin hard work, then only time ive ever seen one used is by a tree surgeon..not in a recovery situation whilst laneing/offroading.
then you gotta store the thing somewhere and try and coil up and uncoil the steel wire rope every time you wanna use it.i can see that becoming very very tiresome.

but thats just my opinion, and as i participate in winch/punch challenges a tirfor is out of the qs..

ya don't get out much do ya

Tirfor/Jet Rope Hoist style winches are a bit more work than pressing a few buttons but they will NEVER let you down

NEVER EVER

whereas it's only a matter of time before a leccy one does, and then there's the constant maintenance that's needed to keep the leccy ones running

but we've done all this before .....
