as title really, which is best.to go on the front of my discovery? and whats the main difference other thsn the volts?

Er.... 12v tends to be for cars/4x4 as they run...12vs....whereas 24v tend to be for commercial vehicles as they run...24v....or are you planning on running a 24v winch and 24v system on your Landy?

Unless you have a 24 volt alternator like on a Fitted For Radio ex MOD vehicle you wont be able to run a 24v winch . If its power you are thinking about , the Amps are more what matters - thick cables and connectors , extremely good earth points and so on . The 24v winches are sold for vehicles with a 24v electrical system like HGVs .

Like what Robbo said .

Indeed , thats how my lorry tail lift and my tipper trailer work . I was poking a bit of fun at Halos "neither!hydraulic!" comment , since hydraulic usually means an electric motor , on LRs at least . Dont get me started about tractors . Really .;)
