I was after some advise please I have a discovery 2 td5 and I brought a small winch to put on the back it only pulls 3000lbs which I believe is about 1.5T

It's only purpose is to pull my caravan up the drive where I have to get it past a fence post before I can hook it up. I was going to mount it on the top of the tow plate, but there are a couple of bolt heads there which fix back to the main body. Plan b was to fix to the metal "bumper" behind the plastic bumper? Has anyone else done this - any help or advise would be great thanks

HI,

Is there not an option to attach it to use a normal towball fitting and then attach it to the tow ball in some way, make it so it can be fitted and removed easily?
Alternatively , use a strop to hook over the vehicles tow ball and attach to an anchor point on the winch, if you get my meaning.

Then have a separate battery to run it. Or you can fit an anderson connector.

Cheers

Thanks for your help guys - yeah i think a towball mounting kit is the way to go - i would like it to be permanently mounted but you cant have everything and i thing it would be a lot of work to achieve this - thanks for your help
