Looking for views/opinions on the Goodwinch winch in a box!
I don't need anything for serious recovery mud plugging etc but thought this might come on handy!
It is small being a 4000lb unit but I'm only looking to pull out a horse trailer/caravan etc if there stuck when we're at a game fair and the odd occasion where I might get stuck in a bit of mud or snow etc.
I haven't used a winch before but thought this might be a good option for me as I could use it either on the Landy/Jeep or the quad! I could quite easily wire each vehicle up so it's just hitch on to the tow bar plug in and away we go!:)
Personally I can't see the need for a front bumper mounted winch for my use as the odd time I have been stuck there's been bugger all in front to hitch onto  Last time it happened a Hilux could get quite near behind but still ended up getting a tractor to pull the Landy out whereas with this winch I reckon I could have just hooked up onto the Hilux as an anchor and pulled myself out backwards! didn't seem too badly plugged just the Hilux couldn't move it as he had racing slicks fitted :D
Any serious mud plugging that I do is on the Quad so I could use it on that easily.

If I had to use it for recovery of the Landy if not too badly stuck am I correct in doubling the pull line although slower helps with the power?

All views / opinions welcomed as to whether i'd be wasting my money or not!!!!

Atb George.
