right then, i got a 5 ton pto hydraulic drum winch (standard) on a 1973 series 3. got perished hoses and the oil tank for needs a clean. it has been left empty for at least a year. any potential pitfalls to look for before i start?

and i want to wire in 2 spots i have mounted to the back of the cab wiring is there but not working. and i want to fit a reverse light on the back as i have to reverse through the woods frequently when its dark getting dark. (i have hung up on stumps before and i wont do it again!). i dont want it on the gear stick a switch is fine by me but is it better to wire it onto the battery or just plonk in an independant unit. also i need to fit either a double battery system of a cigarette lighter to charge my phone as i dont have electricity.

i fitted theese to the back of my rr and fitted to a switch on the dash, lovelly and bright

Lights and ciggy lighter socket are easy enough - use proper insulated crimp connectors (buy a crimp tool) and run each one from its own fuse. It might be worth installing a four way fuse box from the battery 'cos it'll keep the wiring tidier. It's often worth using a relay for high power lights so you can use a lighter grade of switch and have them linked to the headlights if you want. Reversing lights can be fitted to the gearbox - I've got a motorcycle brakelight switch mounted on a bit of beancan that works quite well - for extra convenience.
