Will not start after wading

Yes you can, you will also need the matching fobs otherwise you will have to purchase fobs plus the programming to match the repacement ecu.

we have replaced them after one of our "crew" tried jump starting and got the polarity wrong. amongst other bits, the alarm ecu got fried. it did need the fob reprogramming, or the donor ecu's fobs. (2 button type)

try washing yours in clean water and use a tooth brush to get the cak out of all the connector corners and from under the components, then allow to dry thoroughly on top of a radiator. might still have issues as theres a couple of relays on there, but you've nowt to loose as it is now.

Thanks dude. Mine is an AMR 6429. I have noticed that there are the same units with different numbers.........does it HAVE to be a 6429, or any type, as long as I have the fobs?

It doesn't but to save any problems better to keep to 'as same as the original' u will need the two buttom UK system naturally, that just leaves u two frequencies old & new, both will work but require the matching fobs.

Bottom line I think is stay with the same part number, I would. :)


Have a word with Remotkey I understand they are helpfull and they may be a able to test/repair you ecu/fob if required, that's after you have cleaned and fitted and retested the system. :)
 
Problem sorted...........gave the ECU PCB a clean, and a day and night in the airing cupboard and voila, its a goer.

Really appreciate all the help as usual........lesson learned, gonna try and mount this higher up, and try to resist mudholes in the first place.........they never look that deep do they?!?
