Without lowrange 1st gear some of the trials and comps would be impossible to have been driven with full control. In fact decending Chaplegate in Derbyshire my 1st gear lowrange was way way too fast to the point of me swaping axles for 4.7 ratio replacements.

I've used 1st low to 'drag' bolders around, and 5th low when the bladdy thing got stuck in low and had to drive 15 miles like that - a long time later i got home.

Low R got used to 'push' a car transporter trailer i hired from HSS with a good 3 ton on it up a 10% slope against the over-ride breaks - If HSS want to complain, then i would ask why they never gave me the clip to lock the breaks off !

5th low quite often when changing back into high range like from a comp site to tarmac and ocassionally at a comp getting to a stranded car while the course is briefly closed for an assisted recovery.
