will it give a false reading

i have today wired in place the 2 relays that will be running the led battery status monitors.i have the permanant live feed and also a live switched with the ignition,will this give me a true reading of the battery status?..i did think of just wiring the monitors direct to each battery and put an inline fuse and a switch to turn them off when not in use,would that be better/.

if they are ignition switched then they will give you a reading of the chargine voltage, if the engine is running.
