As the title,

Will a full width TD5 single pass intercooler fit a 300tdi? looking to upgrade mine, just wondering if anyone has used a TD5 unit instead of paying loads for an allisport or similar. i think some fabrication of bracketry will be involved, but is that it?

It's a Landy Griff and it's only an intercooler... the intercooler from a Scania truck will 'fit' if you don't mind mounting it on the roof and having some seriously looooong intake piping.

The TD5 one should fit comfortably under the bonnet... at least it does on a TD5 right? Exactly how you'd mount it, I dunno, but I have heard of a Supra IC in a Disco so no reason at all why a Landy one wouldn't fit another landy.

The intake piping might look more complicated but as long as you keep it as short as possible on the high pressure side it'll be fine - you can have it as long as you like on the low pressure side.

Cheers,

The TD5 is a full width infront of the rad. the problems come from the outlet being on the far side unlike the original which has both on one side. looking on google and talking to people on another forum, seems like it will be a proper bodge and not worth it. worth a punt though as TD5 intercoolers go for peanuts on fleabay.

I've got a TD5 intercooler from my 1998 which is in very good condition.
£20 + postage if you want it - otherwise it goes on eBay because I'm clearing my garage so that I can see the floor. I put a bigger one on when I had the engine tuned by Gary at TD5Alive.
Let me know by PM if you're interested.
