Very interested, How many holes does your drop plate have?

Drop plates off a 110 hi cap, redrilled to match disco hitch, spaced away to clear the bumper!

Thanks for the pics Diesel, I think I'll end up with something similar. Does the 12 hole plate take it to the right height for a Sankey?
Data I don't think a Bateson offers any way near the kind of quality I'm looking for, and is way too expensive.

I found a height measurement on the t'internet, can't remember what it was now, but I think it was to within 1/2" of it! But I've just swapped back to my standard wheels so that's lost me perhaps an inch as well. Can't see it being much of an issue tho

Thanks sas loads of great info there, not sure what the convoy circuit is for! (Often wondered tho).

I'm thinking to get this: TerraFirma TF879 2 Inch Receiver Drop Plate | eBay

and maybe this: Land Rover Defender TDCi 110 Dixon Bate Adj Tow Bar Kit | eBay

maybe with a Nato hitch as well, so just need to save my pennies.

Convoy lights are something for squaddies to follow:) you can convert them to normal trailer electrics easily enough.
The receiver drop plate is meant for a receiver hitch. Or are you going to modify it to fit? Don't forget for a car after a certain year tow hitches need to be type approved! Mines a commercial so it doesn't.
Pretty sure my drop plate is just an older version of that one.

I have a 95/96 RR P38 4.0L SE. I think the law changed in 1998 so should be ok. I changed the receiver hitch already so I could fit my winch tray on the back. (on order from RR Evolution) the drop plate i'll fab if I can't find one tall enough, but that is a way off yet.

Nice widetrack for sale by a mate of mine in Buxton

Having now decided that needing the space for a series 1 is more important than a trailer the old girl is up for sale, she will come complete with a military tilt, excellent replacement spare tail gate, new tyres, spare Nos hubs and shoes and a nato hitch.
All the lights work from a standard military plug ( i will even throw in a military plug for your land rover ) so you won't need to use a horrible trailer board all the time. She tows lovely and quite even fully loaded, it's very heavy but so well balanced that moving it around unhitched is easy even on rough ground, the brakes work well but the hand brake is stiff just needs using more often as i usual park her up and lower the dolly to stop it rolling.looking for £250 complete with all the extras, it's rough around the edges but without doing any repairs will last years as they were built to be abused by the military

the photos only show the old tail gate as i haven't needed to use the new one :banghead
