Will A Rover 220TD engine fit into a land rover?

Hi people need to ask a question on the look out for a land rover but got a rover diesel sat doing nothing!! the engine is in excellent condition the rest is crap thanks to the missus hittin a parking bollard!! just wondered if it would fit in obviously a 200/300tdi would be better but this ones free! if anyone could give me any info would be gratefully recieved. oh and also is there any other types of engine that is any good, (i.e peaugeot or something Jap etc) many thanks
