Disco 1 Will a disco 2 tailgate fit a disco 1 ?

The hinges on my tailgate have dropped, making the tailgate sag and catch the rear bumper. This has made the bottom of the tailgate peel up.
I'm looking for a replacement ideally in paint code 601

The metal and glass part of the door is identical to the D1, so just change the parts that are applicable to the D1, door card, locking bits and external handle.

What about the hinges. Im sure I've read somewhere that disco 2's have either 2 upper or lower discovery 1 hinges ?

Nope been there got the t shirt. We found out after a lot of swearing that they are different. In the end we put the old tailgate back on the tdi and swapped the glass from the td5 tailgate in to it. The glass is interchangeable, nothing else is. Then i chucked the td5 tailgate in the scrap.

Haven't a clue for the D2 but the D1 tail gate hinges have part numbers for the upper and lower hinge which suggest that they are different from each other.

You can use disco 2 hinges on disco 1 back door no problem done this when my lower hinge pin snapped just do one at a time it's a heavy door then just adjust to fit
