Just about at the end of my tether with 'ole trusty' No quick fix on the FIF front, at least £600.
My other concern is that the engine has done 180k so is worn anyway and on getting the pump off I thought I'd might as well change the glowplugs. the old ones had broken up and obviously gone into the engine. I am sure that ceramic and piston rings do not mix well.
I have been offered a good running 1995 525td for less than the cost to fix the pump is this the way to go? or are there major issues with transplanting this engine. I have read up on swopping the top of the FIP so it will talk to the RR, inlet manifold etc. but is this the right way to go?

Thanks for your help.
