The wife has just gone and got herself a 2000 discovery 2. Its an ES as well so has all the gadgets and such. Seems to be in really good condition and everything apart from the rear sunroof works (so far). I havent had a really good look at it but its done 106K, its an auto, and its in red with tan leather. Its got a full service history, in fact when looking through that we found a letter confirming it spent the first 40K of its life owned by landrover. Will post some pics up tomorrow. Best thing is i dont have to panic getting the 300tdi engine built back up and fitted for thursday so i can pick the caravan up... And her Freelander V6 can go now, its done its job of bringing her round to the green oval...:D:D:D:D

This morning I took out the MAP and MAS and gave them a good clean and she seems to run much better as they were full of cr*p. All though the service history is up to date im going to give it a full service and inlet manifold and intercooler clean as soon as my disco (visible in one of the photo's) has its engine rebuilt..

Also found something else that does not work, and thats the drivers side power folding mirror. Also the drivers electric seat seems a bit loose, i.e. the bolster rocks back and forth a bit. Not alot, just enough for the wife to notice and put it on the job list..lol. Going do do a quick search in a bit.

Not sure if it will stay that way for long!!! But your right, it is. Its also very shiny after all the work i put into cleaning it in this afternoons rare sunshine. It must be because its new, if you look at my car in the background....

Noticed yesterday that the air con does not work. Started to panic a bit as the compressor clutch does not engage when the air con was switched on. Did a search on here and looked in rave, did a few checks and the coil and relays all seem ok. Then noticed that there was a pressure switch in the circuit. So booked it in to be regassed. Am i right in thinking that its going to pointless tring to diagnose the system if its out of gas??

Also noticed that parts of the air con are controlled by the engine ecu. So this morning checked the red plug on the ECU. There was oil in it. So it was out with the ECU and gave it and the connector all a good clean out with lecy cleaner. This was obviously a temporary fix so could go get the new caravan. Will have to get a loom on order. Do new looms have any modifications to stop this happening??
