Whyis this leaking on the Injector Pump, can I get new bit?

Hi.. my first post.. shame its to do with something going wrong..lol

I have a 1996 2.5 N/A BMW 6cyl diesel engine.. and on the injector pump, fuel is leaking from the black part which i have circled in the picture. Why is it leaking? should there be a gasket or seal? I have undone it but it doesnt seem to want to pull off as theres about 4 tubes connected inside it.

Can I replace this or fix it without taking off the injector pump?

Had exactly the same issue - only got worse and eventually had diesel ****ing everywhere. The pump ideally needs to be refurbished with all new seals at the very least. It has to come off to do this. I wouldn't try messing around with it or trying to take it apart unless you are used to dealing with these things, there's lots of tiny bits to shoot everywhere inside!

Well i've had a go today, the black electrical connector on the side doesnt pull off, so i took the top off the unit, think it was leaking from the side of the unit as looks like its been opened and repaired before as there was gasket sealer in there that had coroded, so i've resealed it with some diesel resistant sealer so fingers crossed will hold!

fit a scrap yard one...

refit yours and when the scrap one dies put on refitted one.
