Hi guys
I have just paid £200 for a brand new H/D SP rear door ( ebay ) for my 90 my 90 is a county model so has the spare on the back door but for some reason SP don't sell the door complete meaning you can either buy the same door with or without glazing and with or without the holes for the spare wheel carrier so if its glazed it comes without the holes in the door for the spare wheel holder ( the one I have bought ) or if not glazed it comes with the holes for the spare wheel holder.

I know its not a hard job to do drilling the holes in the door for the spare wheel carrier but if peeps like me are paying £200 for a new door surely they could do one glazed with the holes in as I don't see the point in buying a H/D rear door if you are not fitting a spare wheel carrier to it.

Rant over

My opinion .. a swingaway or similar, wheel carrier is a better solution.

Yea it's got to be better for the door in the end.
Having said that, I'm pretty sure SP do the glazing themselves on those doors - could you ask them if they could glaze one of the doors with the pre-drilled holes in it? Probably wouldn't cost much... Worth a call I'd have thought anyway!

Yeah the thing is I am selling the 90 soon just replacing stuff we have already bought for it before we decided to sell it, replacing the rotten bulkhead for a recon'd one ( already bought ) replacing the ribbed roof for a later smooth roof ( already bought ) and need to replace the rear door we damaged off roading last year as I have taken on the S2a rebuild now and need to sell the 90 to fund son's wedding which is what the 2a was going to be used for but won't be ready in time now so selling the 90 instead and keeping the 2a for me :)

Sounds like my Juggling act between the Landy and 'life' ... ;)

Sp is my friends business I helped him set up his warehouse and wired it all for him. I'll pass this all onto him as he wants feedback to improve on what he is doing a already.

Even I can't get that haha. If u contact him direct u might get some discount though and if u pick up with cash even better :)

Yeah tbh I don't really want to sell it as we have put a lot of time and money into it but the wedding is getting closer and the 2a rebuild is going slow due to trying to work on two landy's at the same time in some cases plus son has just started his own business so we all had a chat and decided on selling the 90 once these other jobs have been done as its got a full M.O.T. so want it finished and sold pretty quick so I can start on the 2a as I have given myself 12 months to get the 2a back on the road

Welling had a rear door from them a few weeks back.
And they drilled holes I needed for my rear wiper etc when I asked ,, I have a swing away on mine too but had it galvanised for extra protection . Best money I ever spent
Did you ask them about drilling any extra holes as ok m sure they would have if asked
