Why does my 90 lean back?

From the day I bought my 90, it looks like it stands wrong from the side.

The front is probably a good one or two inches higher than the rear, which make it look like I've got a tonne of bricks in the back, but I haven't.

I've had a couple of suggestions including:

HD Springs on front for due to there once being a winch - I have since found out there has never been a winch on the car.

Rear Springs are deaded - although it's passed 3 MOT's since I've had it with no comment. I reckon it had new springs back in 05.

I'll see if I can get a pic put up, but any suggestions would be much appreciated.

It's not been lifted etc

I just want it to sit level :(

been over loaded too often and they is tired

Only pic I can find of the side view atm

This was taken on a level surface.

You can see the discrepancy with the gaps of the wheel to arch...

dont look seriously bad but if it bothers you or you carry wieght then a set of HD standard hieght springs will rectify it (but will be slightly harsher ride)
try jumping up and down on the rear hitch if it seems very springy but not soft , could be your shocks arer shot ;)

Has someone fitted the springs the wrong way around? the rear sould be an inch or 2 higher than the front, although i'm not sure if thats down to the raer springs being stiffer. Try googling Landrover spring rates, you'll find a chart listing all of the springs fitted to varoius models with lenghts and spring rates. The rate is dictated by a paint stripe on the spring.

My 90 is like that...

recently when I moved home I really packed the back and it was really, really low.... think the rear suspension has had enough...

time for new suspension all round on mine..

Ok thanks.

Will go and have a look to see how much it is going to cost me etc as I might as well do the lot at once.

Nope bloke wasn't a builder, I'll go and do some bouncing and see what colour the springs are.

Just got to decide if to go standard or HD.

Pros and cons of them both?

Would it matter if I've got HD on front then standard on rear (n vice versa)?

Unless you are carrying heavy loads on a regular basis, heavy off roading or winching the a standard setup should be just fine. The ride is less harsh and better handling on roads. I think the vehicle would be more stable with the same springs front and rear.
If you are going to bite the bullet then replace the shocks as well... no point in doing half a job... also replace the steering damper. The difference will amaze you.

I have recently replaced full sets on a 90 and a 110.....took me a full day.

Go for OEM springs...or genuine, buy cheap, buy twice... plenty of horror stories re Britpart springs so best to pass them by. Armstrong, Monroe etc shocks are okay for what you need.

I found that Famous Four in Lincs are very helpfull.... if you check out the site and you can call them and speak to a real person! They will give you options and advice. Excellent to deal with and good value. After sales is spot on as well.

stop worrying, they all look like that - posting a picture at an angle just makes it look worse

so unless it's handling badly (would you notice?) or if you are REALLY bothered by it not "looking" the way you think it should then leave well alone

put some fuel in it with the money you will save
