Series 3 Why do tyres cost more than my Landy did??

Just go on e-bay and type in "land rover wheels and tyres" £200 will get a really decent set. Its better to get the wheels and tyres together, cheaper then buying the tyres on their own and getting them fitted and it gives you a second set of wheels

As above, this would have happened if only you had paid more for the Landy, so there's no one to blame but yourself. (May need to use this argument myself...)

Avon Rangemasters at ATS £90 each. Standard fit on Land Rovers for years. Might be a bit tame for the dunes though?

Beartown Tyres up in the Cheshire area I think. Extremely reasonable. Only ever seen him at the shows. He always sells out!

+1, seems very reasonable, have alook at his webiste, he posts out tyres. Is where I will get a new set when the BFG MT's die .

Cheers

I think my 265 75 16 (similar pattern to KM2s on rims came to less that 400. Think your looking at circa 65 ea tyre.

Great service and very friendly. And they are made from a special lorry composite. So after 15000 miles still look brand new! (Very hard tyres) no problem at all in the wet or ice etc

@Grem has some 285s on his and they have been good also

Have to agree with the above for cheap tyres you need to be looking on eBay. You can get some very nice sets virtually new for not a lot of money. Just need to be careful of the dates on some of them. I did that with the xzl's on my series. bought them piecemeal and tyres and complete wheels and fitted them to my own rims.

If you are running tubed rims it is well worth getting yourself a set of tyre leavers and learning to change them yourself. Then you can get anything second hand and swap them onto the wheels you want. It is also possible to change tubeless tyres yourself but is more difficult to get the bead to seat correctly.
