Has so much fun on cowm pay n play day yesterday in the disco
dono why i didnt buy one ages ago
ive usually bought fast cars and spent thousands after thousands fixing them and modding for more power
example is last car spent 8k in a year and half on it and only did a few track days at 120-150quid each
yet had more fun in a cheap 1600quid disco on a 25quid pay n play day!
I do miss the speed but for the laugh factor wish i moved over ages ago anyone else been in my situation or understand what i mean ?

preaching to the converted...

Think am just being thick here but dont know what u mean lol i think i do but then am confusing my self being thick haha

i still have my fast/track cars which are a forever project. Never done but always costing.

I bought an old disco which so far has been reliable and fun to throw around off road. The only problem I have is that folks at the pay and play days I've been on haven't really been all that interested in the social side. Not been on a proper green lane trip either to be able to enjoy that banter. Only with a neighbor who owns a buggy.

All in all, I've loved the contrast, missed the speed and hope for some better banter. Hell I even fitted a brand new midland CB radio in the first week of ownership but have yet to even speak to anyone on it!

i do miss fast cars at times especially in the summer.:(
i did try to run my m3 along side the defender but it cost too much.:(

at the moment im trying to persuade my wife to get rid of the freelander
and get something quick.
the defender is just as much fun but in a completely different way.

oh and pay and play is a lot cheaper than a track day:):)

come join TV4x4 we are a sociable bunch

Been a loyal fan of both for a long time.

Worked my way up the food chain in quick cars to end up with the MR2 Turbo and Dimma 205, althou being given 2 Discoverys meant something had to give so the MR2 has been moved on and I get my kicks playing in mud or abusing other peoples cars on track days.

Well ive gone from a bmw 330ci to a 250bhp astra coupe turbo to a 370bhp nissan pulsar gtir
and now the current 340bhp astra gsi + the disco 1

Know the feeling - I did enjoy my 2.8 injection Capris and my Trans Am, but the Disco is, well she's a bit of a tank (in a great way!), but the knowledge that it takes far more to get the Landy stuck, not to mention the commanding driving position, more than makes up for lower on road performance

Diff.
