i dont agree with the cupulsory snow tyre idea..... i only need to go 2 mile down the lane to get to the village... dont have to go for at least a week.... the disco on its normal tyres will cope without a problem.... if it wont ill get a tractor out the shed or even walk..... the wifes car hasnt moved since the snow arrived,, cos ive been playing taxi in the disco..... ive padlocked aged parents disco in his garage ... told him he can have the key when the snow melts... and hidden his bolt cutters..... the closest neighbours havnt driven out for several days either......

it works in places like the alps, you have summer tyres and winter tyres, plus you have chains too...... they drive like loons and have less crashes than people over here!

something needs to be done loads of nondescript cars dumped blocking roads and that was when we only had a couple of inches of snow,and everyone screaming the council aren't gritting.If people had decent tyres and chains it might save the day and stop the crisis the drama of winter is becoming.
Just my opinion :)
