Greetings all - first-time visit to this forum which I have just found via Google.
I have a 2007/8 Freelander2 TD4 - which last week, after about ten minutes of running, suddenly started producing a significant amount of white smoke (apparently not steam) through the dashboard air-con vents. This lasted for five to ten minutes - long enough to return home and call 'assistance'. Needless to say; the fault did not recur subsequently.
The car is now with a main dealer - whose methodology appears to be to leave the car running, to see if the fault recurs. (Which I imagine is pretty unlikely.)
I am certain that this was not some kind of condensation issue - and the only reasonable thing I have come-up with on the web, is the failure of a resistor in the blower motor (non LR) - effectively burning-up - and which of course will not recur. Whether or not the Freelander has such a resistor, I have no idea.
I suspect I may soon get a call from the dealer, saying that nothing is wrong. But before that happens - I wonder if anyone else might have any ideas or suggestions on what this can be.
Many thanks for reading, and for any assistance.
John
