Whiring noise

Hello all, I seem to have a noise like whiring noise from front end. This happened the same time i fitted a first 4 offroad light/ roof bar but i thinking this is just a coincidence. Has anyone any idea? this just seems to be when in gear so thats throwing me off the wind noise through the bar.

Could be the gearbox then, or the turbo - if you drive along in gear with it making the noise then you take it out of gear does it continue, or does it go when the engine slows?

When I go at speed (50+) I get a kind of whirring noise as well. It sounds like a spooky ethereal kind of whirring. If I put the clutch in, the noise continues. I think it's the wind. I've never known it any other way, and it hasn't got worse in 6 months or so. It rises in intensity the faster you go.

That'll be the tyres then... ? Does it change in 'tone' when you start cornering?
