changed my steering box on my defender 300tdi yesterday because the old one would have failed the mot on tuesday, bled the system i think (not sure if i did it properly). there now seem's to be a whinning noise when you put it on full lock both way's. there was a whinning noise all the time when i turned the wheel until i bled the system. could it be air in the system or something else.
