alright guys and gals,

I've got a whining noise at about 50mph while my truck is in gear and clutch engaged, when i disengage the clutch it goes away so i know its not a dodge wheel bearing.

It sounds as though its coming from mid landy so around the handbrake area, anyone got any ideas? has anyone had a similar noise? on acceleration up to no noise and on acceleration down from no noise, just when sitting around 50mph ish.

Its a 90 300Tdi, N reg

when i hit 50mph in the landy i also get a whining noise but it gets drowned out by other noises by about 65mph the usual cause of whining is the other half!
Check your levels with all the wading we have done water in somewhere is likely caused some damage mabe check your diff oils too although the noise goes its still possible Jai

i got a 400 mile event coming up so best not be the tranny box! :-(
gunna have a roll under n fiddle in a mo, just had a new clutch which has not been off roaded so doubt its that. UJ's seem ok to me, tranny box oil has just been done n the old stuff was still nice n clean.
how can i check if its the tranny box? i dont want ti to just "go" on me..........
