Hi All
Thinking of putting a new radio in my disco (1996) but want one compatible with controls on steering stalk and preferably a CD player. I have looked at original disco radios suitable for year of my disco but I no longer use tapes.
Has anyone got any suggestions?

If you go to car stero place such as halfrauds then you can see which ones you like. I am impressed with my Pioneer system, very good indeed. The model above my head unit allowed for steering wheel controls however there was no need for me as '87 90 :D din't exist. They aren't that expensive but if you want to find it cheaper find the one you like in store and order online.

I wouldn't recommend halfrauds unless you know exactly what you're looking for specs wise and just want a look, because most of the staff are useless idiots when it comes to advice. Try your local independent car audio retailer, they're often uber knowledgable and because they're fighting with online competition will normally haggle with you on price.

Yeah I didn't really mean get it from them I just meant go there to see the steros and find their features and weather they look / sound like you want them too. If you're not too fussed just look on Amazon for Steering control compatilble stereos. Look out for makes such as: Pioneer, JBL, Blaupunkt and Sony.

I don't know that much lol, but if it didnt fit I am sure there would be an adapter and failing that you could either wire it yourself or have it done. Because my 'fender had an ancient and a non standard fitting, there were no adapters for which I could get to make my stereo work. I had to get it wired up. You can do anything if you know how :D - or pay someone that does :D
