I'm having a bit of a dilemma, so thought I'd consult the wisdom of the folks on here! I've got an '06 5Dr Td4 Adventurer in Black, and am looking to begin adding a few personal touches to it, beginning with side steps.
I have narrowed it to two options - which are either the stainless tubular type (as sold on e-bay for £165 by steelworks, or £370 from local LR dealer ), or the Bearmach Sliderz - which aren't so pretty and are more expensive (I assume - I can't find anywhere online that actually lists a price!) , but I think will offer a bit more protection when I get round to exploring some lanes...
I can't decide which I would need, and have a couple of questions:
Do the stainless tubes stick out far enough to protect the side of the motor from careless doors? I've already had one of my doors caught in a car park, so would like something that will provide a bit of protection.
Is it worth going for the Bearmach items for added protection - I'm currently not planning to do anything damaging, but thought that they may provide a little help in case I get carried away? Should I just go for the looks of the shiny Stainless and save the difference towards a lift or some underbody protection instead?
If anyone's got any pictures to help inspire me, you might just help to make up my mind!
Cheers,
browno
