Hi all, after many years of running landys I've finaly got myself a coiler, it's a 1995 disco 300tdi auto, it's in good nic apart from the coilsprings, they look a bit saggy and one of them has broken. Seeing as though they need replacing i'm gonna fit +2" ones and bigger tyres,a mate of mines got a set of +2" shocks(procomp)and +2" springs(yellow ones) but they're in a big pile in his shed.because there not standard ones is there a way of telling which springs go on the front/back,or doesn't it matter? Apologies if you've been asked this a gazillion times but did a :search: and couldn't find the answer I was after, cheers o'wise ones

I'm sure there is a difference in front to back because of the loading.
I'm sure someone will correct me but haven't they all got numbers stamped on em so you can tell em apart?

I looked on the springs but there's that much ****e on them I couldn't see any
markings, and he bought his disco with the kit on it so he's not got a clue either!

2 springs should be slightly thicker gauge steel than the other 2,the thicker ones go on the rear and thinner ones on the front

or longer on the back.

generally, manlier springs to the back.

unless the spring rates are different somwhow, and you get it wrong, and your car is then way high at the front.

cos then your an unlucky person :D

Mmmm....... Looks like it might be more trouble than it's worth,f#ck it I'm gonna buy new springs at least I'll only have to do it once, what's a good make to buy, don't want it rock hard but I want 2" lift?
