which spots?

right heres the deal I have a '98 300 tdi with the ES built in spots and genuine landrover spots bolted on. I do a lot of driving down country lanes at night so good forward vision is important. I have 2 choices all are "free" as i have all the bits.
1. replace the standard landrover spots with ring ones (which are much brighter and give a better pattern
2. fit a roof bar with 4 hella spots (I have offered the bar up and it wont fit easily) and retain the genuine spots
3 fit the roof bar and the ring spots

What do you guys reckon ?

I wouldn't fit a roof bar 'cos I green-lane a lot and it might get trees etc caught up. OTOH I'd like a roof bar available, preferably quick-fit/remove, 'cos I also go laning a lot at night and the extra light would help ...

But then lower level lights help the contrast and throw shadows across holes and help in fog.

But then, I'm also not really a fan of lots of extra lights, I think the look is more Red-neck Tonka Toy than off-road Landrover, to me anyway!
