Hi all.
Have done a search on the subject but haven't really got very far.
My discovery is running 265/65/16 tyres with 2" lifted shocks and springs on 2" lifting blocks. Understandably i'm having problems with the shocks bottoming out on bigger bumps and not having a great deal of articulation when off roading.
Now i'm going to be fitting double cranked rear arms and caster correction fronts very soon and i also want to fit +5" shocks.
Does anyone have any recomendations on what ones to go for. All i've seen so far are terriferma items at around £180 for a set of 4 plus £50 for the adapter plate to fit on the rears.

Any help would be greatly appricated.

Cheers Chris.

Do away with the lifting blocks and put proper 2 inch lift springs on otherwise you will allways have trouble with shocks bottoming out,you can buy a lift kit(4xbearmach +2 springs and 4x procomp+2 shocks)for £200 off ebay, will be loads better than with the blocks.

So how come they bottom out with lifting blocks? The 2" springs i have are bolted to the spring seats that are now on top of the lifting blocks along with the shocks so how does it affect them?

You may have miss read it Chris has a 2" lift kit and a 2" block kit making up 4" in total.

He didn't misread it. The phraseology is ambiguous, and could be read in two different ways:

with 2" lifted shocks and springs; on 2" lifting blocks

with 2" lifted shocks; and springs on 2" lifting blocks

Its up to the original poster to clarify what he has, so the advice is relevant, and to save us guessing what he meant.

lol, joys of being an uneducated Essex monkey.

My Landy is fitted with 2" lifting blocks and my shocks and springs are also +2" over standard giving me a 4" lift in total.
Hope that makes more sence to everyone. :)

ive got terrafirma +5's all round and am really happy with there performance on and off road,RST landrovers were doing them at a good price when i bought them and they were delivered fast

What's the deal with brake lines and prop shafts on these 4/5" kits please?

I have 2" shocks with 3" springs, I'm considering 2" Spacers and 2" droppers and bump stop extenders, so I have room for more tyre.

It's all consideration though. Pointers appreciated :)

with the +5 shocks ive had to put +2" braided hoses on,i was running standard props for a while and they were ok apart from uj's wearing out quick,so ive replaced them with wide angle props now just for piece of mind, and obviously correction rad arms and cranked trail arms which if i remember right you allready got, just so you know ive only got a 2" lift,i just put +5 shocks on for the extra articulation which personally i think is more beneficial than lifting higher

Yeah of course mate, but obv I was concerned about brake lines for that 5" droop.

I might fit 2" droppers but 1" Spacers, not sure. Plan to upgrade my props anyway cos I think they're on the limit now.

I might need longer cranked rear arms though with bigger Tyres, I have britpart ones on now but have seen extended ones for bigger lifts.

OR FFS just leave it as it is cos the current set up works perfectly together and I have lockers so cross axle is no problem and if all else fails just winch AND STOP SPENDING GODDAMM MONEY YOU DONT NEED TO! :D

Cheers!

Would be putting wide angle props high on the list but theres also sooo many others things to get.
Have already fitted +50mm brake lines, plus gonna be making some double cranked rear arms and castor correction fronts.
Then its polybushes, disclocation cones, +2" strut tops, then list goes on and on and on!

There's a reason why you need all the stuff though. If you pick & choose which ones to fit, you'll end up with problems. Best to keep saving up and then fit it all at once?
