Actually that's a lie, 4.4 p76 engine from Australia is the way to go for rover v8 in a land rover or heavy car, but that will also cost you money, same as top hat 4.6 in the end probably.
No idea pal, but it's coil near plug so igntion would be sorted, they're all waterproof as much as any other engine, no idea about driveline but all the proper comp trucks are built for Chevy or jaguar/land rover v8, everyone has given up with the rover to be fair, versus crate Chevy at 500 bhp out of the box.
I've often thought about the Lexus V8, makes nice power and is as reliable as the day is long and is very well proven.
You can buy a complete LS400 for not much cash now, its newer, reliable, readily available and could work out pretty cheap.
