i recently changed the rear diff on my disco 1, due to the bearings destroying themselves. it had the rear thick dark oil in it so i just used this again. after a few miles it seems to be making a slight wine. it was abit naughty putting the old stuff back in i know but i got told the thick stuff is best. can anyone tell me what its called or if so what i should change it to.?

you want ep90 or 80w/90 but it was dark because it hadnt be changed for years and you put it back in

Re using any fluids is a no go. That diff oil will be holding all sorts of ****e and metal from you diff failing and you've put it straight back in. Better order some more parts ready for another rebuild.
