which nuts for my wheels

Hi. my recently aquired beast TD5 2001 has these wheels fitted I think they are from a rangerover. they are 19 inches dia. which wheel nuts should i look for as I have just bought the wheel below as a spare as the wheel on the carrier on the back was a 16 inch. I would like to mount it on the carrier but need new nuts. all help appreciated.

The alloy spare wheel retaining nuts on a D1 aren't the same as the road wheels, they have a deeper thread, a standard road nut doesn't tighten up on the wheel.

May be different on a D2 but you will still need a locking nut for security.

Nthey are the same size nuts.

Just happen to have an hole going straight thru em. so they wind all the way down. The ones with the ****ty plastic cover disc have 2 nuts one to hold the wheel on and one to hold the wheel cover on.

OF course no one has mentioned the fact that a 19" wheel with a tyre on prob won't fit on the rear carrier.. certainly wouldn't fit on a D1.. it'd hit the rear bumper.

So deep the hole goes straight through the nut then, but i can't see that because the nuts have a stainless cap over then.

erm i had to burst peoples bubbles but he has a D2.......... hence the small pcd....... as for the rear nuts not being the same as the ones that hold the wheels on they they have been on all of the ones i have worked on,

oh and red why wouldn't a 19" rim and tyre not fit...... they have lower profile tyres than a 16" to give the same rolling radius

If ya prise the cap off yes. but normally the spare wheel carrier nut dunt have the cap on to start with. but that's for steel wheels for alloys standard nuts fit straight on..

Seen a few examples like this in the last few weeks with RR and RRS fitted with fast road tyres may as well leave it at home.
The RR brilliant off road but only if off-road tyres are fitted which he doesn't, then ATs are no good for the high speeds the RR can do.

so unless you are in germany on the unlimited sections of the autobahn where are you going to go above 112mph? BF goodrich A/T tyres are S rated

even the cheapest A/T tyres are rated N 86mph!

We are the righteous one.... but then it's not only speed but noise and handling I suspect plus a few things I don't know about.

I'm not righteous that's the reason why I run a V8 "performance"

On a disco 2 the nuts that hold the spare on are the same as the ones on the road wheels. The wheel in the picture is either an l322 or sport wheel so the nuts you need are these.
RANGE ROVER RANGEROVER WHEEL NUTS 2002-2005 on eBay (end time 30-Dec-10 13:43:26 GMT)
If the wheel and tyre dont fit on the rear door without hitting the bumper, remove the carrier and turn it upside down. You may need to re drill some holes but it will lift the wheel and tyre up a bit. The same as this

many thanks.. just opened all my christmas presents.. no wheel nuts.. just a few cashews...
I have a set of of road wheels when I do a bit of off roading.. but as the bus usually tootles up the motorway.. then the other wheels / tyres are better.. still tackled all the snow with no problems.
I will try turning the carrier upside down.. I may redrill and move the studs if needs be. but a quick try holding the wheel in place yesterday showed the wheel will clear the bumper with about 1/2 inch to spare..
