Hi,

I have just changed 3 out of 4 glow plugs on my 300TDI auto, the 4th or 1st depending on left to right counting is behind their con pump and I could not get it off. Is there a trick to this?

My air con does not really work anyway, so has anyone removed theirs?

Also, my injector bleed off piped were shagged and I replaced them, just as well because they were leaking.

Hopefully with the piped, 3 out of 4 glow plugs and a new batter fitted it will start better in the cold now.

However, my belt tensioner looks like its about to give up, the noise is not good.

I had no belt attached to my pump when I brought the thing so that was no biggie. I took it to a local aircon place to have the system purged of the nasty gas. If you decided to do it the red neck way and stab a pipe then for god sake don't breath it in

The pump was just 4 bolts and a plug to remove it. The radiator was a bit more fun, only because I was too lazy to do it 'Proper like'. I removed all the pipe work and the front supports from the slam panel, and then lifted/pried it up with a bar tilted it back and slid it out the bottom. You may have to loosen the coolant rad and tilt it back to get more space. Be careful not to impale it on the coolant fan either!

Or, do it 'proper' and not a red neck way! :)

If your aircon is like mine, undo the 4 off 17mm head bolts-slide pump to one side-change offending glow plug-refit aircon pump.No need to mess about with gas lines.
