bit of a dilema, cant make up my mind.

basically, i want something i can fill up with camping gear on weekends, use as a daily drive for work, and maybe even have a little fun in if theres a pay + play event localish to try. i want it ready to use (no messin about fixing/adding bits before turning the key). i dont mind tinkering/fixing if they need it, but not up for engine rebuilds every weekend. Has to have a towbar. Extra seats always a bonus too - more than 5 like a car...

Ultimately id love a defender 110, liked em for years but on my budget im not gonna get a good un.
Then theres a LWB series for space, but i dont see many with rear seats + windows.... and 19mpg isnt too appealing.
Disco. For some reason ive always seen these more as a 'normal' car but im begining to come round to the looks of em, specially the off road prepared ones with the lift/big wheels etc.
oh and a freelander. no thanks.

its makin my head hurt.

Looks like you've already made your mind up.
Get a disco with a tdi engine

disco, its more like a car on-road but very capable off road. and the money you save compared to a decent 90/110 you can spend makin the disco right and gettin a few goodies for it. 7 seats, leather, cruise, leccy windows, and go anywhere ability - its why i love my disco!!

i love disco's but really really want summit that looks like a more tradtional land rover ! i know i'll get slated for sayin it ! get yer 90 or 110

you disco lot make me larf :D how is a disco 'car like' the doozils are noisier inside than my 200k mls vw tdi van and slower too! oh and they wobble about more than an over loaded car ferry :D
ok i admit i'm biased but a v8.. preferrably classic shaped ;) if you must have a disco get a v8 on gas

I had the same problem when I originally wanted a LR, went around looking at 110's, unfortunately my car fund got dented (kids always needing things:doh:) so I ended up getting a Disco. I'm gutted I didn't got a 110 but the Disco cost a lot less money & is quite a capable machine even in standard trim & they're comfier for day to day driving too;) ....but if you can stretch your budget to get a 110 you won't regret it.

disco or as bob says a range rover classic tdi, essentialy the same motor undernieth but must admit as a disco driver i prefer the rangy for looks and it turned out it would have been a whole £12 cheaper to insure a rangy tdi on an L plate than its costing to insure my disco tdi on an H plate
