I've been with Flux for a good few years now but it's time for a change after they quoted me £694 for the year full comp when I have 8 years (protected) no claims. I've got the value of my 02 TD5 ES down as £3500 so I find that (almost £700 quote) a kick in the ball sack. They've added to the policy :-

£30 policy issue fee
£40 finance fee (coz i'm paying it in 4 installments)
£15 personal accident cover
£54 breakdown cover
£15 keycare cover
£20 courtesy car

The only ones i'd use out of that would be the courtesy car (had a lovely Audi A4 Sline 2 years ago to play with for a week) and maybe the personal accident cover so i'm looking for a new broker gentlemen (and fair ladies if any grace these hallowed pages). Any recommendations of good insurers would be much appreciated as I have to get this done within the week.

Thanks in advance to anyone kind enough to help.

NFU for me, not the cheapest but have never let me down on a payout. Also when I replaced the air suspension on my Land Cruiser Amazon with conventional shocks and springs including a 2" lift, their was no increase in premium as the modifications were "not performance enhancing" I have now replaced the Amazon with an A6 Allroad (42mpg) and my 110 TD5 SW (25mpg) as 40k miles a year at 18mpg was getting silly!

I insure house, 3 private cars, boat, caravan, 2 business's and 5 company vans, approx £6k a year for the last 6 years, in that time they've paid out without quibble 1 Rolex lost by wife at health spar £6k 2 iPhones water damaged in boat turn over £1.4k a stolen laptop £1.5k. an £8k in car claims (I was particularly proud of the £4k's worth of damage to my Allroad turning around in the drive! NFU "who would you consider to blame for the accident" self "well it's either me or the dog, and as she was in the boot at the time probably me". Car collected next day and returned 3 weeks later and you cannot detect any evidence of the repairs or paint variation)

My business partner insures with direct line and had a nightmare when his cars were stolen of the drive following a break in, his Range Rover sport was recovered, it was trailered and stored for two weeks before steel wheels were fitted, another company did the body work and it was then returned to him. It took another two weeks for the DVD unit to be replaced by a 3rd company and finally new alloys were fitted by a 4th, 3 months start to finish!

just bought a 90 300 tdi. I traded in a vehicle that was with LV, they wouldn't cover it for theft unless there was an alarm fitted, I also had a policy with churchill on another car, rang them as I wasn't keen on having a 90 with no theft cover (!) they said that the reg no was showing that it was a pick up, no said I it's a hard top, oh, it's modified then so we won't cover it. I didnt bother trying to argue.
NFU local branch, who insure my smallholding, car, etc. Hi, yes, when do you want cover to start? business cover as well? no probs. Done!! Every time I want FULL proper ins cover and not just a way of getting a tax disc, it is always NFU, a bit dear but worth it.

hi, im with '2gether insurance', they specialise in off road vehicles, modified vehicles, classic car insurance, kit cars etc and theyre cheap too. i pay approx 450, fully comp and im insured off road too.
iv never had any issues with them and they seem pretty good
:)

NFU for me too. Also have them for house insurance too. Not the cheapest but they acted fast when I needed them when my roof blew of my house last year. And they have a shop.

I'm with aviva with Silverlandy (family multicar) but would say NFU are the best at no quibbles payout. I use them for my horse insurance (I know it's different!) but their ethos is company wide. Last 7 years I have had 4 claims and never a problem, even the last claim which is a veterinary trial, they are open minded enough to support this and have paid out £1400 so far.

They are not cheap but you get what you pay for.
