Just about to buy all the bits to lift my landy, but ive just been told ProComp dampers are crap! Had them befor and they dident seem to last long but I though that was normal for any shock. Which ones are good; there are loads of other brands! Im now considering the two britpart options, but doesnt look like they do +4 shocks only +2. Hmm......

I've previously used the de-carbon ones which worked well and seemed to last, look very well made too.

Its the old britprt ****part row again but i wouldnt be putting britpart anywhere near my motor.

Especially if its something like shocks.

I know a few people who have bought the britpart lift kits etc and then had to replace everything within a couple of years.

Remember if you buy cheap you buy twice!

If budget is an issue, then go with the pro comp ones. I see them as the best bang for your buck, Price vs reliability.

Or just wait and save for a decent set. Thats what im doing.

Others may disagree, thats just my 2 pence worth.

Good luck

Think I might have to get the es9000s. I have the longest hardest springs bearmach do and im worried I might run out of shock travel before spring travel with the +2s
How long are your springs?

I've found the problem to be that finding long enough springs for Landy's in the UK is the issue, which usually forces many to go for a dislocating setup, rather than a retained one.

Also if you want flex, do you really want hard (high spring rate) springs???

Are Pro Comp really that bad? They seem to be a large, well established and long running company. Not something normally associated with poor quality.

How about Rough Country shocks? They have a great reputation State side, David at Llama4x4 sells them.

You'll have to phone him up though as you can't order through his website. Shocks are £39.95 each.

Pro-Comp are fantastic shocks, i fitted es9000 to my ambulance and went to Africa and back with no problems.

They even have a lifetime warranty if i remember correctly. (So get yours replaced under warranty).

I've had de carbon shocks on the front of my series for 8 years,i snapped one off the other day so took the other one off as I'm replacing both and it's still full of gas and works perfect! Worth paying the extra money.
Pro comp are a good shock too,i use them on the series and on the disco and they haven't been any trouble, and if you break one you can afford to buy another at only £27 a corner.

I would go for the Super Gaz or E9000's. I have heard about E9000's snapping the Top mounts, but they are meant to have a life time warrenty...

On the subject of Britpart Suspension stuff - I have Standard height HD Britpart springs and Dampers all round on my 110 (Have had them for just over a year) and they are good! The ride is not harsh but solid in the corners. Think the whole lot come to under £80! I really don't mind Britpart stuff and I think that the quality has improved alot recently on certian items. However some items are ****, such as Engine Mounts that split when they have done 0 miles! Which ultimatly gives them a bad name.
