Which CV do I need ?

As it says on the title. I have a 1990 TD 90 which has a CV on it's way out.
The guy in the shop says there is 3 different types, "take it out and I'll tell you which one you have"

.
Can anybody give me a clue to which type I have.
So I don't have take it out and drive to the shop on 3 wheels !

impossible to say,im sure you know landrovers are funny old things and nothings straight forward,i replaced a cv joint and front half shaft recently,went to dealer and gave reg number ,yep its this one got it home took it all apart put new one in and half shaft turned out to have a different flange fitting one had a circlip and one didnt,so it didnt fit properly,my advice go armed with the one that you know fits and offer it up to the new one b4 you take it home..

Try and find yer axle number to see if that helps

take the prop off, bung it in diff lock and drive there (unless it's 200 miles away) - it's the yoke gap that defines which one you need, am sure there's only 2 at that era

Looked in me parts catalogue fur the '87> 110 and it shows two types going by axle number ...

AEU2522 - C.V- upto 20L48865 - rhs
upto 21L33355 - lhs

RTC6862 - C.V - from 20L48866 - rhs
from 21L33356 - lhs

Did a quick google of the furst part number and it comes up for a 90 anaw

I just did mine the other week on a 1988 lr 90 which had th 23 spline cv, but I wasnt sure which one it was either so I bought two, a 23 and a 32 spline kit from Paddock Spares, and the one that was incorrect was taken back and I was given a refund. Its alot easier than taking it to bits then ending up with the wrong one.

CV Joint Kit - Defender non ABS with 23 internal splines - DEFENDER

Do you mean that the yoke gap on the prop shaft defines which axle CV joint he needs?
