Trying to find a adaptor to go on top of a bottle jack that will help it fit a curved axel. Like this below...

Seems almost impossible to find something like this in the UK

Amazon product

How would that fit onto the top of a bottle jack? Aren't most axel stands solid, toothed metal?

The top of an axle stand is a thick wall tube, with a V or U shaped saddle on the top. This can be cut so a couple of inches of tube can be slipped over the top of the bottle jack piston, giving a V or U shaped top to support an axle. ;)

Not all are the same. All mine are are of the solid, square toothed variety. Might be cheaper to buy the kind you’re describing. Still cannot believe this doesn’t easily exist in the UK as an after market add on. Someone’s missing a trick

Bottle jack just used to lift, support comes from the axle stand.

You could search out a genuine Discovery bottle jack as they have the saddle you describe.

I think BritPart makes/markets/sources/sells them too.

Yeh I know but it’s to make the initial lifting safer. I did see those, good shout, just trying to avoid buying another bottle jack!

I have both types of axle stands, well actually I only have one of the tube type now.
Think the problem is it's land rover specific so not enough demand to make them.

There’s loads of American companies making a variety of different designs. I suppose there’s much bigger SUV/4x4/I’ve got-a-tiny-dick-and-a-big-truck scene there to pay the fairly extortionate prices.
