fitted 200tdi rad with engine, any ideas on fitting intercooler ???

also i have a hard top roof with square windows for sale, not bad, neeed to get rid for some beer money

Think a lot of folk fit a disco rad/intercooler. You can fit one in front of a series rad as it wont effect cooling much and a 200 runs on the cool side anyway. It does mean running the pipework through the wing though.
I might happen to know someone with a disco rad ;)

ah other side of the counrty anyways haha !

erm i have fitted a 200 rad, i have found with rr diffs, in 4th i can accelerate rapidly up a steap hill, the power is amazin but the top end speed is horrendus, it did 35 with series diffs now it does 45 with rr diffs, and there is loads more in pedal but it sounds like im reving the tits off it ? is this the case and why is mine so slow ? would an intercooler speed it up or just add power ?

Have you tried putting it in high range?:eek:

Seriously......

Bog standard Series drive train fitted to a 200 should sit comfortably at about 55/60 mph......with an O/D 70

Intercooler give a bit more power

right how much is a good price for the sides ???

erm the lever is forward so i guess thats high range ???

thiss might sound stupid but if there was abit of oil on clutch could that be spinning on plate ? why the fack isnt it doing more than 45 then !!!!!! could it be dodgie drive trains ??

my 109 cruises economically at 55ish mph, if i want to get a move on it'll touch 80-85 with the engine singing, fit an overdrive it''l purr at 65 and clear 90mph easily

use a td5 intercooler in front of the rad' it fits nice and tidy in between the wings, i cut my 200 rad surround down and mounted the intercooler to that

is the td5 intercooler going to add 20 miles an hour really ??????????>????

i have also cut my rad tray like yours......

could it be that i have no sound proofing and im not revving it enough ? the turbo kicks in at 35 miles per hour that must be high revs surely ?

7.50 tyres (10% increased gearing over 6.00s), 3.54 diffs (30% increased gearing) and an overdrive (27-28% increase) ...

plus a heavy right foot :D

ignore the intercooler

as you say you're just not revving it hard enough, without the overdrive i still can touch 80mph, with the overdrive it's too highly geared for the aerodynamics to get much faster than 90

i've seen 90 using 4.3:1 diffs and an overdrive but those diffs don't give the fuel economy of the 3.54 ones although they do allow you to accellerate easier at speed and pull top gear/overdrive easier

i have got big tyres on it already ! so are you saying rr diffs are the good ones ?

heres one for ya all !... what about changing my transfer box to the 200 dico one i have ? would it fit spline wise ????

good is relative to what you want or expect from your landrover so therefore "good" is up to you

have you even looked at a Series transfer box and compared it to your disco one ??

Ashcroft do a kit, its big money though
edit: sorry no, thats for fitting LT77 to the series t/box....I doubt very much you'll get the disco one on a series box, totally different

How did you rig up the throttle, is full pedal actually full throttle on the injector pump?

not sure about throttle, iv never revved it much more than when the turbo whistles as it sounds loud as f**k........ could it just be i need some sound proofing and a heavy foot ??
